“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”

― Pema Chödrön, The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times

For over 35 years this house

has sheltered people in need.

We continue to offer radical hospitality to our neighbors without homes,

but we can only do it with your help.

“The invitation to everyone who comes to call this place home, for a temporary time or a long term commitment is essentially:

you are invited, as an individual with your own story to tell, to be heard, and to join in telling the story of this community;

your gifts are welcome here, and we invite you to develop and share them; your weaknesses are accepted here, and we invite you to acknowledge them, and learn from them.

This invitation is a seed that bears fruit; thank you for helping us continue to bear witness, in every season."
